A bit out of order this one! I started it ages ago but never got around to finishing it. A couple of months ago, Dan came to visit me in Brisbane, the first time he’d left Victoria since he arrived way back when. Well I know what I like about this city, but I know what he really wants to see – all the good bars. So this post will be doubling up as a sort of bar review!

Sarah Meets Brisbane
Alright alright, I know it’s been a while. And here’s the thing, a lot has happened! So I’m gonna have two posts to catch-up, this one is when Sarah came to town, and finishes off the adventure involving my folks which started in the last post.
Shows, Visitors, Disasters
Well, it’s been a while, but it’s not like there’s been a shortage of things happening! Here’s we’s goes.
New Zealand, New Digs
Just to be clear about the title there, I didn’t move to New Zealand, I went for a visit and moved into a new place when I got back to Brisbane. Anyways, as mentioned in the last post, I went over to visit the lovely Sarah as it was her birthday – haha, now everyone knows you’re old!

The New Zealand Story
Well since Sarah made the effort to come and see me, I thought it would be rude not to return the gesture. I don’t think I would have gone to New Zealand unless she was there, but I’m glad I did, even if it was nothing like I’d been led to believe as a child.
Brissy, Mate!
Well when Nat asked me if I wanted to go up to Brisbane with her for a weekend to celebrate her cousin Ross’s birthday I jumped at the opportunity – right after checking the state of my funds. Holidays again! Hey, that’s half of what this working holiday malarky is about, remember? So I took a Friday off work and got explorin’.
Bushwhacker Dan
Dan‘s been up in Beechworth for several weeks now, doing regional work to extend his visa. He’s working with Jezza’s dad Ross, putting up fencing and all sorts. I knew Dan was the outdoor type, but I didn’t expect he’d love it as much as he does. I’m starting to wonder if he’ll even come back to civilization.
The Sarahjane Adventures
I’ve known Sarah for almost ten years. We never really hung out together unless we happened to meet up on nights out through mutual friends. We’d always been in contact though, and we’d get chatting if we saw each other in a bar (yeah, Moorings). In March, she left Aberdeen for the sunny shores of Auckland, and we’ve pretty much been in regular contact ever since. Anyway, since Auckland and Melbourne aren’t that far apart from each other, she decided to come and visit me. Oh dear. Now I’m the host in a city I hardly know. Continue reading
A Break in the Void
Hey! I’m still alive. I’ve been hella busy here in ‘Straya, hardly got a minute to myself. UNTIL NOW. So here’s a quick update of what’s been happening, I’ll follow up with something more in-depth (particularly with Sydney) soon. Right-o!
Who Likes to Rock the Party?
Well it’s been a while since I felt the need to post anything here as it felt like there was not much happening that was worth talking about. The truth is, plenty has been happening. Break it down!
