So far I haven’t gone into much detail with Melbourne, so I best get that sorted. When I arrived here, I only really knew Dan and Nat, but this fella’s social circle has expanded rapidly. Not only have I befriended many humans, but also furry things, such as these chaps and chappettes:
Two days after landing in Melbourne, Dan and I headed to Sydney as his pal Si from Edinburgh was coming to the end of his stay in the city and there were a couple of events on that we all fancied checking out, like this Medieval fayre. But let’s start at the beginning, first we had to get there, and we opted to do so IN STYLE.
Hey! I’m still alive. I’ve been hella busy here in ‘Straya, hardly got a minute to myself. UNTIL NOW. So here’s a quick update of what’s been happening, I’ll follow up with something more in-depth (particularly with Sydney) soon. Right-o!
Wednesday I went for a wander about the area where the hostel is. It seems like everywhere is bustling with people looking around shops and getting some scran on the go.
I met up with Ye-Seul again on Tuesday morning, we went to Nampo-Dong to have a look at shops and get some street food, oh yeah. Thems is tasty eats.
Okay! Seoul part 2! On Sunday I got up pretty late again. I was determined to see the imperial palace, Gyeongbokgung. Stepping out the subway station you’re met immediately by the walls of the palace grounds. This place is huge. You can see the entrance gates nearby and some of the larger buildings in the distance. So I made my way in for a wander about.
Well, this is it. I’m sat in a pub in Heathrow, guzzling down a bottle of Staropramen. It was a late-ish night last night and a very early morning today, and I’m still trying to figure out how I feel about the whole situation. In about 12 hours I’ll be in Seoul. Am I excited? Aye. Nervous? Just a wee bit. Mostly I just feel like I’m getting on with it. When the heck did I grow up?!
